There was a sinister motive bhind the ‘coining’ of the term Talibanisation. It is not a well-guarded secret that the well-entrenched liberal camp of Pakistan was behind this exercise. As soon as the term Talibanisation started finding frequency in speech and in print, the above-mentioned camp wasted no time in bracketing it with Islam and Islamisation.
Before the 9/11, the terms Taliban and Talibanisation brought just one name and image in mind—Mulla Omar— the leader of the Students Movement who had defeated the warlords of Afghanistan in a heroic bid to establish law and order in the country. The fact that he more or less succeeded in establishing the rule of law in the trigger-happy society of Afghanistan cannot be denied.
In the post – 9/11 scenario Americans adopted a sinister strategy to demonise the term Taliban by creating their own ‘Taliban’ of demonic dimensions.
The purpose was to discredit Islam, and to bracket it with ‘barbarism’.
This strategy has succeeded to a great degree.
Our liberal fascists take pains to bracket ‘Talibanisation’ with Islam and Islamisation.
It goes without saying that the Taliban of Mulla Omar had committed some excesses in an effort to establish law and order in a war-torn society. When you operate upon a cancer patient, you do use knives and blades. Of course it was Islamisation, but in a society where a complete breakdown of law and order had occurred.
Islamisation in Pakistan has completely different meanings. Our inspiration comes from the poetry of Allam Iqbal. And our objective has simply to be the enforcement of Quranic Laws.
To create an Islamic Welfare State is our goal.
Isn’t it ironic that our ‘liberals’ idealise the likes of Che Guevara, but fail to find a few kind words for Mulla Omar who was certainly a game-changer in Afghanistan……
