Francis Fukoyama the famous Neocon theorist and author of “The End Of History” had famously stated that America had been leading not only in commerce, Industry Science and Technology but also in the formulation of global policies that would shape the World for several decades to come.
The cornerstone of the global policies of America has always been to ensure the supremacy of the U.S and the containment or destruction of any emerging thereat. During the last century two strong threats had been thwarted, defeated and cut down-i.e Fascistic Nationalism of Germany and allies, and the tumultuom rise of the Soviet-led Communism. The third great threat was also perceived, and adequate measures were taken to contain and crush it. It was the threat of the re-emergence of the Muslim Power on the basis of the Concept of Islamic Nationhood. This threat was defined as “Political Islam”. Also Islamic Extremism and Militancy.
It was perceived that the de-colorialization of the world would give Muslims an opportunity to build powerful sovereign states on the strength of the vast resources of oil, gas and minerals existing in the World of the Crescent in abundance.
The first counter-measure taken by the West was the creation of Israel right in the heart of the Middle East. Then was adopted the policy of Balkanisation of Arabs in the first place, and of any other emerging Islamic Land in the second place.
What we have been witnessing in the post 9/11 era is the determined pursuit of the U.S vision of Islam’s containment through Balkanisntion, through promotion of divisions, and through triggering of civil wars in the Muslim lands. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Libya and Egypt are all pinpointed targets.
The great irony is that we have become allies of America in our own destruction!
