MULTAN, April 29: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has warned the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of bringing a white paper against Sharif family, as he aims to escalate his anti-government campaign.
In his address to a PTI workers’ convention in Multan, the party chairman said he would soon give a call for Islamabad to his supporters as “Mir Jaffars and Mir Sadiqs” were imposed on the country.
“We have to prepare each and every child in the country for our struggle towards an independent Pakistan. For this, we need to hold early elections,” the PTI chairman said.
“I invite you all to come to Islamabad to protest against the foreign conspiracy being hatched with the help of Mir Jaffars and Mir Sadiqs … we have to foil it,” said the former premier, vowing to bring two million people to the federal capital.
“This will be our most important movement yet… a gang of thieves has been imposed upon us but every child of this nation will struggle against it to attain true independence,” he added.
Imran said that he will never allow the “three stooges” to rule the country, saying that the nation will make fresh elections happen. He added that Rs40 billion worth of cases are pending against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
This mafia, the former premier said, is involved in tarnishing people’s character and it intimidates them. “They gave money to a woman in 2018 to write a book against me… after Eid, they are planning to do a similar thing to tarnish my image.” He also vowed to fight the mafia till his last breath, urging people to do jihad against them with words.
A day earlier, the PTI chief had said that he and his wife Bushra Bibi were being targeted with fake news and accused the incumbent government of peddling propaganda for its “political gains”.
“I am being targeted with fake news and allegations under the government’s supervision after a clear defeat in [their] political narrative,” Imran said. “Enemy uses speculation as a weapon.” – TLTP
