Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, on Wednesday met with Rustam Emomali, the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli chamber of Tajik bicameral parliament Majlisi Oli, the Mayor of Dushanbe. The Tajik politician arrived on an official visit to Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat. The meeting mainly focused on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, the official Turkmen media reports. The sides stated with satisfaction the high level of interstate relations, emphasizing the need for the speedy implementation of the bilateral agreements reached recently between the countries.
In this regard, the officials highlighted the importance of intensifying and further expanding a productive inter-parliamentary dialogue. The sides also stressed the importance of the upcoming Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Central Asian countries and Russia in Ashgabat. The Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of Majlisi Milli of Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan expressed confidence in the steady strengthening of comprehensive ties between the two countries. – Business Turkmenistan
