Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, during his visit to Russia’s Tatarstan Republic on Thursday took part in the XIII International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022”, and held a number of bilateral meetings.
While touring the exhibition at Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center, the venue of the summit, Berdimuhamedov expressed interest in purchasing modern electric buses for Turkmenistan, the official Turkmen media reports.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty also met with the Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. The talks were also attended by the the Tatar President Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Advisor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiyev and the Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin.
The meeting focused on intensification of cooperation in transport-logistic sector. The sides also discussed the possibility of participation of Russian companies in projects implemented in Turkmenistan. In the afternoon, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a bilateral meeting with Farid Mukhametshin at the building of the State Council of Tatarstan. The sides discussed issues of further development of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations. Berdimuhamedov invited the deputies of the State Council of Tatarstan to visit Ashgabat.
During his visit, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded with the Order of Merits for the Republic of Tatarstan in a solemn ceremony at the residence of President of Tatarstan.
In a meeting at the residence, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov reaffirmed their intention to further strengthen and expand multi-vector cooperation and expressed their best wishes to each other and the two brotherly peoples.
