ISLAMABAD, April 11: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Monday announced that he would play no further part in the intra-party election (IPE).
“I was never and am not now interested in any party position. I will continue to serve PTI as a worker and strive for party’s unity,” Tareen said in a statement. He also confirmed hid decision in an exclusive chat with media.
“Imran Khan has called for a final showdown with the Sharif’s. It is of utmost importance that the whole party stands united. In the spirit of unity and keeping the Party cause supreme, I vave decided that I will play no further part in the elections,”
He said that he was never interested in any party position. “I was never and am not now interested in any party position. I will continue to serve PTI as a worker and strive for Party Unity,” he said.
He said that he burnt his boats and joined PTI to follow Imran Khan’s ideology. “I cannot stand by and watch PTI divided and especially at this critical juncture. I call upon the entire party hierarchy to play their role in uniting PTI. We need to focus our energies on exposing the Sharifs,” he added.-DNA
