- Says nations build by acquiring quality education instead of constructing multi storied buildings and roads
PESHAWAR, April 14: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Education, Muhammad Atif Khan has said that nations build by virtue of acquiring quality education instead of constructing multi storied buildings and roads. He said that the provincial government of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aiming promotion of education as its top most priority has increased budget allocation for education from 70 to 100 billion rupees. Similarly, 27 thousands teachers have been recruited on the basis of pure merit and boundary walls of 6500 schools were being built, he said.
These views he expressed while addressing the education convention held at Haripur on Thursday. The convention was held by Mutahida Mahaaz Asatza and All Pakistan Government Employees Association.
Addressing the convention, the Education Minsiter said that previous governments of the province in the past had totally neglected the education sector due to which parents admitted their children to private schools and the present government has rooted out political intervention in education sector. Previously the education was a source of mere employment and favouratism whereas the situation has been totally changed in the present set up. Thousands of teachers have been recruited on the basis of pure merit and no single teacher has been inducted like the previous practice of “Sifarish”. He said that recruiting teachers on the basis of “Sifarish” amounted to share injustice with the new generation besides violating the right of deserving candidates.-PR
