ISLAMABAD, April 15: Pakistan has dismissed claim made in US declassified documents regarding its involvement with the Haqqani network. In a statement issued in Islamabad on Friday, the Foreign Office spokesman, Qazi Khalilullah said the allegations are preposterous. He pointed out that Pakistan has, through a series of military operations, severely damaged and weakened Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, and other militant and terrorist organizations. The statement said Pakistan is determined to eradicate the scourge of terrorism, and has taken action against all terrorist elements, without discrimination. The spokesman said Pakistan is among the biggest victims of terrorism, having lost tens of thousands of innocent lives, including over five thousand valiant personnel of law enforcement agencies. The country has also suffered economic losses to the tune of one hundred billion dollars.-Online
