ISLAMABAD, April 17: The government of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N) has spent the amount of Rs 623 million rupees on media campaign to highlight the its performance.
As per documents tabled in the meeting of parliamentary committee, the PML-N’s government has released approximately Rs 50 million to Council of Newspapers Editors of Pakistan (CPNE) to setup the endowment fund for journalists.
“Rs 11 million have been released for the medical treatment of senior journalist Muhammad Sadiq while Rs 1 million released to Gujranwala Press Club on the recommendation of Federal Commerce Minister Khurram Dastigar Khan”, the document added.
According to report, Rs 5 million have been released for the Strategic Media Communication established in PM house under the supervision of Marryam Nawaz Sharif.
The report further says that PM Nawaz Sharif has released approximately Rs 11 million for the Quaid-e-Azam academy Karachi.
Approximately Rs 18 million have been spent on the installation of CCTV cameras in the courts of capital and record in this regard has been tabled in the parliament.
“The Chief Commissioner Islamabad has also demanded for Rs 1.9 million to purchase new vehicle”, the report concluded.-Online
