ISLAMABAD, April 18: Counsel of former President Pervez Musharraf on Monday filed a plea seeking 14 week exemption from court appearance in high treason case on medical ground.
Faisal Chaudhry, Ex-lawyer of ex-president, also submitted rejoinders in the special court from Musharraf’s guarantor and counsel regarding his departure of to Dubai. The exception plea was filed along with medical certificate of Musharraf’s health tests conducted on April 6.
The lawyer, in his plea, stated that former President has not fled the country but left for medical treatment from abroad and could not appear before the court. The counsel has request the court to grant Musharraf exemption from court appearance for 14 weeks. Meanwhile, General (R) Rasheed Qureshi, guarantor of Musharraf, also submitted his written rejoinder in which he stated that court had not imposed restriction on Pervez Musharraf’s movement and had granted him exception after he appeared before the special court on March 31, 2013. Qurshi said that former president will come back to country after medical treatment.-Online
