Matter of Indian spy arrested recently from Baluchistan Kulbhushan Yadev is talk of the town nowadays. Instead of praising Pakistan’s intelligence agencies role and efforts of other law enforcement institutions, conspiracies are coming up against Pakistan. Recent such contradicting statement came up by a German scholar. Ironically, Western scholars in Pakistan are perceived as more scholarly than our very own researchers and intellectuals. Indeed it is very shameful that we consider western scholars more learned because of our low understanding about matters and think they are right about certain things. Lately German diplomat and scholar Dr Gunter Mulack, in a seminar by Pakistan Institute of International Affairs spoke against Pakistan saying “Be aware the Chinese will not bring you paradise on earth”. He further said “The Indian spy recently arrested in Baluchistan was actually caught by the Taliban and sold to Pakistani intelligence”. Now such remarks by a western scholar show apprehensions of west on the prospering project of CPEC. Certainly, for some countries this CPEC project has no liking because of certain obvious reasons. Main reason for west to oppose this project is an easy trade route which China will get once the Gwadar port is fully operationalized and will boost economies of both China and Pakistan. Now statement by a diplomat show warring concerns of Germany that China will not make Pakistan a paradise. It is therefore pertinent to mention that this statement clearly depicts that western countries are not exultant with China’s mega billion investment on the project of CPEC in Pakistan. Not only western countries have their own politics involved with China but also with Pakistan which is only Islamic nuclear power.
On Indian side, we have seen total confusion on the issue of arrest of its spy. No clear statement defending Kulbhushan has come up in Indian media rather they are trying to bury the issue by stating that the arrested guy was just a businessman and not on a pay role of secret mission of spying. It seems that finding no viable answer to the revelation of RAW activities in Pakistan, India has propelled a propaganda rather hoop-la movement against Pakistan and particularly CPEC by using its relations with European countries. India seems on a mission of sabotaging CPEC through all means and assuring west that China will emerge as super power against European countries. It appears that India as usual will exploit the matter by stating that Pakistan is a state sponsoring terrorism and it was involved in Pathankot attack, which is totally a false allegation. If Pakistan is a country which is supporting terrorism then how come it can offer its services to India for joint investigation on Pathankot investigation or struggle for peace in region? Thus India seems on a mission of creating qualms over Pakistan’s and CPEC security. Indian media has provide false stories to some of UK newspapers against Pakistan which are totally fabricated. Now all these contrived tactics show real faces of cloaked opponents of Pakistan.
Dr Mulack statement of arrest of Kulbhushan by Taliban and later handing it over to Pakistani intelligence agencies is quite unreasonable. How come military and other law enforcement agencies which are already on a war against terrorism and insurgencies in Pakistan can deal secretly with enemies or insurgents of Pakistan? This is just a baseless statement without acquaintance of ground realities and apparently shows his own personal opinion and lack of knowledge about the security situation in Pakistan. He has no idea how actually military operations in Pakistan have helped in curbing the menace of terrorism nor does he seem cognisant about the role of Taliban in the region. Dr Gunter Mulack has served mostly in the Arab world. Though he has remained publisher and commentator of current world affairs but his knowledge about the South Asian politics and particularly about the security dynamics of Pakistan appears stumpy. Few weeks ago he also gave contradictory view point about Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia relations in a seminar. That viewpoint also depicted that he knows well how to exploit sectarian issue in Pakistan and create conspiracy against it. Dr Mulack words in a seminar of PIIA, portrayed how he has just gone through western media reports and presented himself as an Indian mouth-piece. He knew well how to cash Indian sentiments using the reference of Taliban. But because of poor information about the role of Pakistan in bringing peace and stability in the region he was not able to give due credit to Pakistan. There is need on Pakistani front that it’s positive image and viewpoint regarding any conspiracy must come up immediately before any issue is exploited by its hidden enemies. Pak China friendship is termed as higher than Himalayas and deeper than ocean, so they must sustain cordial relations with each other through all odds. German scholar malicious avowals against CPEC showed how he is perceiving CPEC as a successful project in future and being unable to justify and give credit to one of best intelligence agencies of world he preferred to present a gesture that grapes are sour!
