MUZAFFARABAD, April 20: A spokesperson for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir has demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down following Panama leaks scandal.
AJK government spokesperson and Information Minister Abid Hussain Abid while talking to Online said: “Now the prime minister should resign from his office forthwith as he haslost the confidence of the masses and it is morally obligatory on him the step down”.
He said that because the international scandal prime ministers and leaders of other countries have shown courage and quit their offices. “As many as 12 key leaders have withdrawn from their posts so far which include Iceland, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Spain and Germany,” he said asking Nawaz to follow suit and quit the office.
“The Panama leaks cannot be swept under the carpet and it has adversely affected reputation of the PML-N in AJK. This has triggered grave concern among the people of AJK,” he said. “The PML-N will have to suffer crushing defeat in the upcoming elections in AJK due to the Panama leaks issue,” he claimed. -Online
