KARACHI: It seemed as if justice was served to TV actress Shagufta Ejaz following suspension of National Accountability Bureau officer who had misused his powers and harassed the lady after spat at her salon. But the show is not yet over for the influential officer.
Ms Shagufta and her husband arrived at the Karachi Press Club today to share their misery and problems they are facing in the wake of speaking up against powerful NAB officer.
We are not satisfied with the action taken against the NAB official after his wife had stormed into my salon and resorted to ruthless use of force, she said.
An application has also been submitted with the police to lodge FIR against me, regretted the actress.
She appealed the provincial government, governor Sindh, and chief minister Sindh to take strict action against the NAB officer so such misuse of power could be prevented in future.
On April 5, the salon owner had claimed that she and her staff were beaten up by plain-clothed policemen sent by wife of a NAB official who reportedly had lost her ornament at the salon a day before, ARY News reported.
Haya Ali, owner of Envy Salon, said in a Facebook post that the ‘Hina got her guard beaten up, trespassed and scared the girls there’.
“The four men were government officials who came in a police mobile upon orders of Hina’s husband, Assistant Deputy Director NAB Ausaf Mir Talpur,” she stated.
Narrating the episode, Ali said it happened on Tuesday when one of her clients named Hina Khan claimed to have lost her chain at the salon. The owner, when telephoned later, informed the lady that the salon and staff were not responsible for any loss of belongings as per a ‘giant sign at the reception’.
Assistant Deputy Director of NAB Ausaf Ali Mir was later suspended over misuse of powers.
