Restoration of regional peace is not possible without taking all stakeholders on board in Afghanistan. Few months back QCG initiated a much desired but even more complicated engagement process of relevant stakeholders. Afghan government ,despite being divided in groups verbally consented for dialogue with Afghan Taliban. Though, few optimistic quarters were setting high hopes from proposed dialogues which are still awaited but many analysts, having close eye on bitter ground realities, never expected a major breakthrough .Such predictions have proven correct due to strength of rationality. In fact Afghan unity government, a major stakeholder, has yet to establish her credibility in terms of performance . persistent corruption and poor governance coupled with war torn deterioratd civic infrastructure are major inbuilt handicaps comparatively much complicated than Afghan unity government’s real potential. In addition to this , Afghan government has no roots in masses rather it manages to stand till today on American clutches. Crisis took birth right from the presidential elections and later mediation was struck between electoral rivals by dividing the cake in two pieces one each for Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah under close American supervision. A government with serious credibility crises was neither capable of decision making on sensitive security issues nor it ever had any intent to do so. On the other hand, afghan Taliban too have number of splits over unsettled disputes. Many groups are striving under different banners and each one of these is capable enough to spoil or halt the dialogue process which has yet to commence. These groups hardly possess any potential to carve a positive sign in peace process but their spoiling capabilities are hard to ignore. Indian influence on major portion of afghan unity government is an undeniable harsh reality. Two aims always attract india in Afghan arena. One, damage to Pakistan at any cost. Two, her quest for central asian states via Afghanistan. A serious conflict of economic and strategic interests between china and America has turned this region into a flash point. Major sufferer of Afghan crisis are no one else but Afghan and Pakistani masses. Persistent allegations on Pakistan from top Afghan officials do not carry any weightage. What else could be expected from a biased Indian sponsored puppet ruling regime which has no roots in masses. Key to this complicated crises is held with America. It is a bitter reality of present era that durable peace in Afghanistan can not be restored without a major shift in American mindset.
