COAS Gen Raheel Sharif meeting with U.S Special Envoy Richard Olson in Rawalpindi. – SABAH

ISLAMABAD, May 19: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Thursday met the United States (US) Special Envoy Richard Olson and discussed the regional security, sources reported.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sharif and Olson discussed regional security and present situation of Afghanistan. The US envoy praised Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism.
Earlier, the US envoy met Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar in which they discussed bilateral relations whereas Nisar informed Olson of Pakistan’s concerns on F-16 jets sale.
Olson said the US wants to broaden its relations with Pakistan despite some problems. The two leaders also discussed regional security in general and Afghanistan situation in particular.
The US envoy praised Pakistan’s efforts in Afghan reconciliation process.-Agencies
