PESHAWAR, June 8: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan has warned the high ups of his department to be practical instead of only writing letter adding that failing in starting practical work within stipulated time would be considered inefficiency on their part and there was no place for inefficient people in the department. Therefore, ensure practical and timely work otherwise get ready for action, he remarked.
He issued this warning, while chairing a meeting of chairmen of eight Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Peshawar. The meeting beside Secretary Education Afzal Latif, was also attended by all Chairmen of BISE KP and other concerned authorities.
The meeting beside discussing ways and means to bring improvement and transparency in exams by maximum use of Information Technology, also reviewed the possibility of use of extra land of Boards for sports and certain decisions were taken in this respect.
The Education Minister maintained that only conducting of exams was not the mandate of Boards but creating healthy environment for youth was also in their jurisdiction, therefore early steps should be taken for promotion of sports without any further delay. He added that the incumbent government believes in strengthening of system instead of personalities that was why drastic reforms had been introduced in all sectors for benefit of the common man.
Atif claimed, reforms initiated by the PTI-led provincial government was yielding positive results and the people were satisfied enough with the merit policy of the government as for the first time in the history of the province, talented people were getting government jobs on merit.-PR
