There are no two opinions about the fact that a conspiracy is brewing in the international arena to award the control or guardianship of what is called South Asia to India, at the expense of Pakistan.

The U.S recent steps are a clear proof of this heinous conspiracy. First the F16 deal was torpedoed. Then a drone attack on Pakistan’s soil occurred with two objectives: (a) to derail the Afghan Peace talks and (b) to provide substance to the India-sponsored propaganda that Pakistan is an undisputable safe haven for terrorists. Then has come the U.S resolve to back the Indian bid to secure membership of the strategically important Nuclear Suppliers Group.

All this is gone on when the Nawaz Sharif government has remained in deep slumber in its response to the developments designed to ‘demote’ Pakistan’s status and stature in the region, and to cut the power of Pakistan’s military down to the size acceptable to the sinister-Indo-American agenda.

The statement of China to back Pakistan’s sovereign rights has come very late but surely will have impact. The delayed Chinese response to the U.S drone has been due to Pakistan civil government’s sinister lack of effort to seek China’s backing.

For this the Army Chief had to hold a meeting with the Chinese ambassador recently. As another heartening outcome of this meeting has been China’s ‘statement of its intentions’ to block the India bid secure membership of the prestigious Nuclear Suppliers group.

One hopes that, the fears that Nawaz government is secretly in league with the India-U.S initiatives for ‘political purposes’ will turn out to be baseless, but it is time Pakistan stands up to say a big and loud NO to the U.S – India designs in the region.

Let us declare Pakistan’s Independence all over again
