CHAKSAWARI, July 17: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan stated on Sunday that democracy in the country was not endangered by the army but it was threatened by the monarchial attitude of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.
He stated that the public in Turkey stood with the government in the hour of crisis as the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had served his people and brought prosperity in the country. He said that if the army took over in Pakistan, people would come out to the streets while celebrating and will distribute sweets.

He stated that the public in Pakistan was being looted in the name of democracy, further stating that PM Nawaz took loans worth Rs 6,000 billion during the past three years. Every child in Pakistan indebted rupees one hundred and twenty thousand today,âs he said. He stated that the PM was held accountable in a democratic setup but PM Nawaz was telling sad tales to the nation instead of responding on the Panama Leaks issue. He stated that the former British PM David Cameron also answered to his people, further adding that if the Pakistani PM was democratic he would have responded in the parliament. He added that instead of responding on allegations, media and Opposition parties in the country were bribed.- NNI
