bilawal-bhutto-condemns-hazara-killing-1433766709-1803KARACHI, July 27: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday condemned pre-poll rigging by ruling PML-N and its Ministers in Azad Jammu & Kashmir elections and warned that this “controversial victory” will only mean redoubling of PPP efforts to ensure transparent democracy which begins with accountability for Panama leaks.
“From distributing transformers through its office-bearers to the use of Kashmir Council funds, PML-N’s Federal government used all unconstitutional and illegal means to steal the mandate of the people of Kashmir,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated in a press statement issued here.
He said that despite such heavy rigging and manipulations by the Federal government, the PPP accepted the results in order to keep
the democratic process going forward and in the larger national interest. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reaffirmed PPP commitment to fight for Kashmir cause at very forum regardless of election results as Kashmir lies at the heart of Pakistan and the PPP. He said that PPP will stand guard against the attempts by the PML-N government to weaken the democracy by trampling up the electoral system and introducing tools and plots to snatch the mandate of the people where-ever it lays hands. PPP Chairman further said that transparent democracy can only be ensured when independent investigations are conducted into the Panama Leaks as almost all the countries mentioned in the Leaks have started probe and even ended up in resignations of their Prime Ministers and Ministers. “But here in Pakistan, PML-N government was trying to hush up Panama Leaks to evade inquiry into their fat offshore companies,” he added. -DNA
