Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees ZakariaISLAMABAD, August 4: Pakistan has expressed serious concern over continued atrocities of Indian forces against Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir.
During the weekly press briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria said a number of Kashmiris have been martyred and many others lost their eye-sight during repression by occupation forces.
He said Kashmiris are fighting for right to self-determination.
The remarks came a day after another youth was killed after being hit by pellets fired from point-blank range by the personnel of Indian forces in Srinagar raising the death toll to 64 in the past 27 days.
The doctor who conducted the autopsy on the slain youth, identified as Riyaz Ahmad Shah, said that hundreds of pellets were found inside the body of the victim. The doctor added that none of the internal organs of the deceased was found intact.
Earlier on Tuesday, two youth were killed and dozen others were injured due to the firing of pellets, bullets and teargas shells by Indian forces on the demonstrations across the Valley. Meanwhile, the authorities intensified curfew and other restrictions in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kupwara, Baramulla, Shopian, Kulgam, Islamabad, Pulwama and some areas in Jammu region. Despite curfew and restrictions, thousands of people including women and children participated in anti-India rallies and protest demonstrations in Pahalgam, Kulgam, Bandipora, Bijbehara, Rajouri and other areas of the territory.-Agencies
