- Senator Rehman Malik’s son named Special Assistant to CM

KARACHI, August 07: Another nine ministers took oath on Sunday as members of Sindh cabinet.
Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan administrated the swearing on the new members of the cabinet.
The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Governor’s House. Mir Hazir Khan Bijrani, Mohammad Bux Mehr, Nasir Shah, Manzoor Wassan, Fayyaz Butt, Mumtaz Ali Jakhrani, Ikramullah Dharejo, M Ali Malkani and Imdad Pitafi were among the cabinet members who were sworn on.
The total number of cabinet members of Sindh has risen to 18 after the new ministers took oath whereas ten assistants shall also be made part of the cabinet. The notification regarding the appointment of the assistants shall soon be released.
Umar Rehman, Shahid Taheem, Abid Bhaiyyo, Taimur Talpur, Qasim Naveed, Rehana Laghari, Babar Afandi, Zulfiqar Banbhan, Nadir Khawaja and Dharan Chandio were among the assistants.
The number of special assistants shall rise to 15 after the inclusion of eleven new members.
Just a week after the Sindh government, led by its newly-elected Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, appointed a 17-member cabinet, it added 19 more members to its fleet.
The new members, including nine ministers and 10 special advisers, took oath during a ceremony at Sindh Governor’s House on Sunday.
The provincial government authorities have also inducted Senator Rehman Malik’s son as special assistant to chief minister in the latest expansion. According to sources, the notification in this regard will be issued once all newly inducted Sindh cabinet members take oath. Malik’s son, Umer Rehman, is a technocrat in the province and graduated in Actuarial Science.
The number of cabinet members has risen to 24 after new inductions. Other members of the Sindh cabinet include Imdad Pitafi, Fayyaz Butt, Tariq Masood and Mumtaz Jakhrani.
It is learnt that the Chief Minister has also begun reshuffling the CM House administration and replaced his principle secretary.- Online/Agencies
