ATTOCK, August 07: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Accountability movement kicked off from Peshawar on Sunday.
A large number of PTI workers are part of the rally that is heading from the provincial capital towards Attock under the leadership of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
While addressing the participants of the rally, PTI Chairman said that corruption has destroyed all institutions of the country. Khan further stated that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is trying to protect Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar from being held accountable.
PTI Chairman said that every Pakistani wants an end to corruption as a common man has suffered the most because of corruption in the country. He added that instead of protecting Nawaz and Dar, NAB should enquire from them that how they were able to make assets worth billions.
While referring to the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Khan said that ECP members should realise that the nation was now wide-awake. He further added that it was the party’s democratic right to seek an answer from PM Nawaz regarding the Panama Leaks issue. Imran Khan announced that the next rally shall head towards Lahore.
While addressing to the participants of the rally once it reached Pabbi, Khan said that the people of Pakistan should learn how to save their money. He also enquired from the participants that if he would want them to travel all the way to Lahore, will they comply. The participants answered to Khan’s question with immense enthusiasm, giving him an idea of their loyalty.
The participants of the rally, who are holding party flags and are raising slogans, are given a warm-welcome at the various camps erected throughout the route of the rally for the very purpose. The final destination of the rally shall be the Khairabad bazar in Attock where the PTI Chairman shall make his final address to the participants.
Speaking to party supporters in Nowshera, Imran Khan says he will file another reference against Prime Minister for his alleged stashing of wealth abroad.
Khan seemed visibly fumed at Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) for filing a reference against him seeking disqualification in the National Assembly.
The PML-N on Friday submitted a reference to the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq seeking disqualification of Khan.
The reference was submitted by eight PML-N lawmakers. They raised the issue of Imran Khan’s off-shore companies, his flats outside Pakistan, income and Bani Gala residence in the reference. -NNI
