PESHAWAR, August 25: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has said Swat Motorway will change the destiny of the people of Malakand and Swat.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the motorway in Chakdarra on Thursday, he said the provincial government has introduced revolutionary reforms in legislation to ensure good governance.
Imran Khan said we have invested in our youth and they are the real force of change.
Earlier, Chairman PTI Imran Khan along with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak Speaker Provincial Assembly Asad Qaiser, Amir JI Senator Siraj ul Haq, Members provincial Cabinet and MNAs laid the foundation stone of Swat Motorway by unveiling the plaque. A large number of people belonging to different districts of Malakand Division were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Khyber PakhtunKhwa Parvez Khattak has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharrif is inaugurating mega developmental projects in Punjab and persistently ignoring the rights of smaller provinces. He added that the PML-N government should fulfill its promise, made with people of Swat a couple of months earlier, to construct a motorway from Chakdara to Mingora.
“Today, Nawaz Sharrif is inaugurating motorway in Sialkot. By the grace of Allah, I am inaugurating a motorway in my province without the support of federal government. This motorway will prove a game changer for the province bringing prosperity and development.”
The contract for 81 Km long Swat Motorway has been awarded to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and will be completed in 18 months’ time with an estimated cost of Rs 35 billion besides Rs. 5 billion will be spent on acquiring lands for the project.
Chief Minister stated that the present government has also approved the construction of Peshawar Metro Bus which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 32 billion.-PR
