ISLAMABAD, September 8: A meeting of the executive board was held in Islamabad and was chaired by Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.
It was decided in the meeting that a reference will be filed against the former PM, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. The former premier was allegedly involved in misappropriations while he awarded rental power plants contract to M/s Young Generation (Pvt) Ltd.
It was also announced in the meeting that a reference against former provincial minister, Sharjeel Memon would also be filed. There are charges of misuse of power and embezzlement in the national treasury against the former minister for information. The meeting also approved investigation against IG Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali. There are allegations against Ghulam Hyder of embezzlements amounting Rs 120 crore while misusing his powers. Member of the Sindh Assembly, Abdul Sattar Rajper had also been alleged of having more assets than his income while the embezzlement amounting
Rs 300 crore in the Income Support Programme. -Sabah
