11: Imam-e-Kaaba, Abdul Rahman Al-SudaisMOUNT ARAFAT, September 11: Imam-e-Kaaba, Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais in his Hajj sermon on Sunday said that it is the responsibility of the Islamic clerics to stop violence, adding that terrorists have misguided youth into killings and hostility.
The Imam was delivering the Hajj sermon at the Namirah Mosque where he said that sectarianism has found roots among Muslims. He said that Islam has no links with terrorism and terrorists are trying to weaken the Ummah through bomb blasts.
He said that the Muslims need to gather strength to put an end to sectarianism. He also said that Muslim Ummah should on its own find a solution wisely to its problems.
“The leaders of the Islamic countries should deal with public justly,” said Al-Sudais.
Close to 1.5 million Muslims from around the world moved to Mount Arafat to perform the main ritual of Hajj, where they offered Zuhr and Asr prayers together and listened Hajj sermon.
Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdulla Al-Asheikh did not deliver sermon and led prayers in Namirah Mosque.
According to Saudi media reports, the Grand Mufti has apologised for not delivering the Hajj sermon citing health reasons. He had been delivering the sermon and leading the prayer at Namirah mosque since 1981.-Agencies
