Who is going to believe a politician if he starts indulging in somersaults quite frequently. In the not-distant past the leadership of both the PPP and the PAT had given indication that they might be a part of PTI’s Long March to Raiwind after Eid but the latest signals that have come out from the leaders of these two political parties reveal that they have changed their mind. Why on earth did they go back on their word?Only God knows, which means that if after all the PTI decided on the Long March, it might have to go out on a limb.
The political observers have always doubted that the PPP has been playing a double game throughout. Deep down it is in tacit league with Nawaz League right from day one after the latter formed its government in 2013. Both have decided that ‘You will scratch my back and I will scratch yours’. The PPP, in its opposition to the Nawaz League, would never go to extent of toppling it and would see to it that it completes its constitutional term up to 2018. The decision of the PPP that it doesn’t favour long March, therefore, hasn’t come as a surprise to any body. As far as the PAT is concerned, the role of its cleric chief has not been consistent. He is notorious for building up a political tempo temporarily, God knows for what purpose and then defusing it. His brand of politics smacks of extremism which saner element of the society do not approve of.

He wants to know who out of them was in the wrong? What was the bone of contention between them? What made them hit it off?
