On ‘the road less travelled’, one comes across marvels less seen, and gems rarely discovered. On the path taken up least by the travellers, lie unbounded treasures, waiting to be discovered. On the winding passages of life, where darkness and dread rule, also hide the unsought treasures, worth more than the entire universe filled up with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires.
When I came across you, here, and my heart lingered on, compelling me to stay longer, the Infinite Wisdom of ages, intervened. The perilous path, that I had taken up to fulfil my oath, beckons. I am being told to leave a trail at the most, but get back, afoot as before. The journey I undertook under sheer fascination of seeking the unsought, is a lifetime commitment. I can not go back on my word, even to evade death. As in death, on this path, resides the final destination. The culmination of the mortal figure, moving about, to and fro on this land, is not the end.
I got from you more than you were willing to part with. As was destined, you hardly had a choice in that. It matters not, how, when and where. This suffices to say, yes, this moment and right here. I knew exactly, at what point in time, you stopped being you. Rather, the moment you changed into the other you-the one, that stays in the deepest waters and does not like to surface. The deepest waters do not make the least noise. It is just the continuous hum of depth, that moves in and out of ones body, passing through and through, purging the ever purified, in a ceremonial cleansing with due rules and rites.
I thoroughly basked in the soothing flames of the inscrutable mysteries, that surround you. I affirm to the miracle of fire and fireworks deep in the oceans, along the farthest latitudes, where ice age has never ceased to exist. I bear witness to the unseen appearing to be seen. I testify, the moment I was thrown off the cliff, the superhuman in the attire of an unidentified hero, held my hand , and enabled me to land safely.
You said to me, never to name you. I do not remember, you ever gave out your name. You said, may be, some day you will visit the land and come face to face with me, but how will you manage to surface from the depths of ice-cold seas and be able to breathe in air instead of the potion of love you take in with every breath that you take.
I cannot unveil, the ever veiled. I cannot even see the ever hidden , once the curtain is drawn. Once the mast is raised and the sails are set, there is hardly a way to refuse the journey. The only alternative that remains, is annihilation by throwing oneself at the mercy of relentless ocean currents. You knew too much and too well to understand the meaningless, whispers of an innocuous sapling, trying to reason with you. But then, of course, you did know too well, afterall.
I might some day, run in to you, yet again, on a different path, on a path even lesser travelled, but we sure will meet at the juncture, they call the crossroads of fate.
The Seeker,Ciao.
