l_116578_073352_updatesISLAMABAD: COAS International Squash Championship, 2016 concluded here Sunday at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad.
Omar Abdul Meguid from Egypt won the championship by defeating Ivan Yuen of Malaysia in three straight games.
COAS Gen Raheel Sharif witnessed the match and distributed trophies and prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
The tournament was organised by Army Sports Directorate in collaboration with Pakistan Squash Federation.This Championship, an annual feature on the Pakistan Squash Federation calendar has been revived this year after a suspension of eight years in a bid to woo international sports and contribute to building a healthy society.Besides Pakistan, world ranking players from Egypt, France, Hong Kong, Jordan, Malaysia and USA also participated in the week long championship.
The Army Chief Congratulated the winners and organisers of the tournament. Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman was also present on the occasion.
