  • Announces to boycott Joint Parliamentary session on Kashmir today
  •  Asks Prime Minister to resign and present himself for accountability

l_116795_063216_updatesISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it would boycott Wednesday’s joint parliamentary session on the Kashmir issue, with party chairman Imran Khan saying his party would no longer endorse this parliament.
“We fully back Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and sent Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday to meeting of the parliamentary parties’ heads,” said Imran, questioning if there was anything else left for discussion in the joint session of the parliament. He said that Nawaz Sharif had lost the moral authority to continue as the prime minister and that Tehreek-i-Insaf would no longer endorse this parliament.
The PTI chairman asked the Prime Minister to tender his resignation and present himself for accountability in the wake of the Panama Papers disclosures. He suggested that Nawaz Sharif could also choose any member of his party in the House to replace him as premier.
The joint parliamentary session was called by the prime minister in the wake of heightened Pakistan-India tensions over the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir and skirmishes along the Line of Control. PTI chairman has decided to shut down Islamabad On October 30th. On Friday, Imran Khan said that his party would not let PM Nawaz Sharif govern the country if he does not present himself for accountability in the wake of the Panama leaks.
“We are giving you [Nawaz Sharif] time until Muharram to present yourself for accountability. Your case is open and shut. If Pakistan’s institutions do not act, we will not let you rule after Muharram,” the PTI chairman said speaking to a mammoth gathering, some five kilometers away from the residence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. “We will shut down Islamabad after Muharram if institutions do not act to hold PM accountable,” the PTI chairman had warned.-Agencies
