The Indian premier and the entire Hindu leadership are visibly upset over the massive Chinese investment in Pakistan. Gwadar is a sore in their eyes. They simply cannot stomach the emergence of Gwadar as one of the biggest seaport in this region.
Modi hates Muslims and Pakistan and he has let it be known by his actions and words so many times. As if his war mongering and water aggression weren’t enough he not only refused to attend SAARC conference scheduled for next month in Islamabad but managed to persuade Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Bhutan also to sit it out.
One would have wished that Afghanistan and Bangladesh, being Muslim countries having faith in one God, the Holy Quran and being followers of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, would attend SAARC conference but in vain. Their boycott of the said conference provides proof, if any proof is needed, for ascertaining whose side they are on.
The general public perception is that the prime minister has not shown aggressiveness in his words and deeds as yet against India to the extent it was expected from him. His body language is mild .The people wanted him to bare his teeth to India the way Zulfikhar Ali Bhutto vented his spleen against it on Kashmir and other issues which have been the bone of contention between Islamabad and New Delhi since long.
The present crisis between these two countries has once again highlighted the need of having a full-time foreign minister, smart and young enough, to dash off to the world capitals at short notice quite often for spotlighting Indian atrocities on the hapless Kashmiris as much as possible. Better late than never.
