ISLAMABAD, October 6: Leader of the Opposition in Senate, Aitzaz Ahsan has criticised the Prime Minister dubbing cancellation of 19th Summit of SAARC as his failure on diplomatic front.
The opposition leader addressed the two-day joint session of the parliament on the second day today and rhetorically questioned premier Nawaz Sharif over not raising Kulbhushan Jadhav’s issue.
Jadhav is an Indian spy who was arrested in Balochistan earlier this year who confessed to be in contact with Research and Analysis Wing and being an in-service naval officer.
Senator Aitzaz Ahsan chastised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his alleged failure and shortcomings in leading Pakistan on international diplomatic front.
He said that India was afraid of pro-Kashmir movements due to which it backed off from all the claims regarding surgical strike which proved to be false anyway.
Ahsan said that India has attempted to isolate Pakistan in the region by sabotaging SAARC conference. He demanded the premier to appoint an ‘experienced’ foreign minister.
The Leader of the Opposition in Senate further asked Nawaz Sharif to raise the issue of Kulbhushan Jadhav at international level to unmask the real face of India.
A joint session of the parliament was convened on the second consecutive day today to unanimously condemn Indian aggression and show solidarity over Kashmir dispute against violence in the valley.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf did not participate in either of the sessions along with Sheikh Raheed, chief of Awami Muslim League. -NNI
