As the minutes tick by and 30th October draws near and near the frustration and fear in the camp of the ruling party increases by the day. The prime minister must have lost his sleep in this war of nerves which the PTI chief has unleashed against him. He has a dicky heart which isn’t working hundred percent .He must be a man of steel because he alone has been the butt of criticism of Imran Khan for the last couple of months over Panama Leaks. A lesser man would have collapsed by now. The government is visibly disturbed over the danger of forcible closure of Islamabad snowballing into violence and clashes between the law and order enforcing agencies and the strikers and the logical consequences of possible bloodletting which cannot be ruled in the present high emotionally charged atmosphere.
It seems that almost all those political parties who represent status quo would not side with Imran Khan in the execution of his threat to close down the federal capital on 30h October 2016, meaning thereby, that he would go out on a limb. In the general elections which are due in one and a half year time. It is just possible that the same political trend would translate into election alliances at the federal and provincial level between the political parties .Imran Khan has been told by his advisors that if Bhutto could beat the political forces of status quo single handedly in the two general elections which he contested in 1970 and 1977 why can’t he ?For this to happen the PTI chief would have to reorganise his party which is at the moment riven with factionalism
POSTSCRIPT: Pakistan has up till now fared well against the West Indies cricket team and some new really promising cricketers have made it to the national eleven both in batting and bowling departments. Which is very encouraging .The forthcoming tour of the Down Under would ,however, be their litmus test as unlike the flat pitches of the Emirates a lot of bounce and turn is found in the pitches of New Zealand and Australia and the real worth of a batsman and bowler is determined by how well does he play on them.
