There is no dearth of disturbing events at which keep the nation remains in a constant state of distress! Most of these originate from external sources. Traditionally , we have India ! Kashmir issue was always there but it is not the only irritant as the list contains a lot more like terrorist networks , hydro terrorism , cultural assault , diplomatic offensive and well thought-out economic coercion plans. On western front , Afghan puppet setup limping on American clutches but fully poised to ignite the borders to serve the Indian cause .At regional chessboard Bangladesh is another symbol of bitterness where Haseena Wajid regime has firmly opted to spoil the present while being imprisoned in the past . Since decades region has suffered due to frequent interference of global players specially in Afghanistan. Pakistan mostly remained at receiving end of the harsh by- products of the vicious games of interests being played between the global players. Our complex security matrix is rightly attributed to these obvious external factors. It is also an undeniable reality that our internal turmoil has always multiplied the damages . Pakistan can stand firm and tall against all external odds provided it is internally stable , prosperous and peaceful. Here lies the point ! Are we stable today ? The simple answer to this question is NO . Let’s not establish the responsibility on individuals as our politicians are good in blame game and frequently declare each other the ultimate culprit . Let’s point out the causes of our incurable instability. Unfair political culture , non productive beaurucracy , redundant education system and never ending obedience to foreign influence has eventually brought us to the day when gangs of self styled biased intellectuals openly propagate and advocate foreign interests in our society . Have a quick recap of important events at national canvas and you will feel the depth of turmoil. Country is at war ! it is a war against terrorism ! there are terrorists with undeniable foreign backing and hardly any doubt exists about Indian role . Surprisingly, our response to this clear and present danger was not matching . war on terror is a national responsibility but political leadership practically handed over the task to armed forces and opted to customary lip service. Civil LEAs have yet to gain the desired capacity to meet the challenge of terrorism . this burden of incompetence is being pulled by armed forces . In Sindh , Karachi operation is progressing under Rangers control and political leadership has no positive contribution at her credit . There have been deliberate efforts to jeopardize the operation . It is evident that crimes/ terrorism in Sindh flourished under political patronage . There are so many stories at media disclosing a serious dissent between civil – military leadership . are these total rumors or a mix of rumor in a bitter reality ? it is not difficult to assess that political leadership is not comfortable with establishment . left with one and a half year in this term , the performance of government is not appreciable on account of governance , energy crisis , public welfare , labor policy , education and foreign affairs . Above all , there is a serious deficiency of political will on sensitive security related matters as evident from a deadlock on NACTA. Onus of failure is not exclusive for federal government rather opposition too shares this trophy of shame . It is an interesting equation that major opposition parties PPP and PTI are ruling in Sindh and KPK respectively. Situation in both provinces is equally miserable but criticism on federal government remains their sacred task. Recently , PPP arranged a power show off by celebrating Youm -e- Shuhada in Karachi . Speeches were a total disappointment and the event was a real indicator of political turmoil . On the other hand, PTI is all set for Islamabad lock down and her leadership believes that anti Nawaz rhetoric would fetch a great revolutionary victory this time .
Federal government , the PML-N and her allies likes of JUI-F Achakzai , are apparently relax and busy in usual blame game through press statements . Culture of political engagement is diminishing rapidly and it is all cheap criticism on persons and families having no intent to discuss a real national issue . Is this we call a leadership? Rulers and opposition both have equally disappointed the nation ! it is death of political culture in Pakistan where the real issues are being ruthlessly trivialized by kicking off the dust of cheap criticism ! shouting is superior to a decent argument ! Street agitation is the choice of elected representatives and parliament stands no where in the political campaigning . Horrible indicators ! poor show by the so called leaders . PML-N leadership , being the ruling regime, has played a lead role in orchestrating this pathetic culture and rest are following the suit vigorously . Under present challenging environment , country needs a unified stance by rulers , opposition and military establishment . So far, output of political quarters is below the expectation . A quick change of course is must. Prime responsibility rests with the political leadership . it is time to act upon your words ! Tomorrow No one is going to believe that while sitting in PM house with an additional portfolio of Foreign office , the great leader had no control over foreign policy . Gone the days of Coups! Improve the performance and answer the nation that why Pakistan stands isolated on diplomatic front ? self styled journalists are beating the drum of isolation to create an unfavorable environment of chaos by exaggerating the Isolation phrase . we know , whose agenda is this ! But , what is the response of government ? Silence ! a meaningful silence which can either be interpreted as lack of interest or a hidden agreement to the phrase. What happened after a much talked about twisted story of daily Dawn is a true reflection of unsatisfactory state of affairs at the top tiers . Pakistan needs internal stability and output of political leadership on this account is much below the expectations . Responsibility obviously rests with the Federal government which apparently has no intent to improve upon. Poor Show!
