khurshid-shahISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has said that they are not in favor of shutting down cities.
Shah was talking to media on Sunday. The opposition leader said that said that closing down cities for having demands met is not appropriate. Shah said, “The job of politicians is to provide relief to the masses, not causing them any problems.” It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has announced to impose a siege on capital city of Islamabad on November 2, to press for its demand of a probe against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members in Panama Leaks scandal.
He added that PPP will take to the streets against the federal government if the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s four demands are not met.
The opposition leader said that the party is ready for talks with the government on Bilawal’s four demands.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his Salam-e-Shuhada Rally in Karachi, had laid down four demands to the federal government.
“The federal government should accept our four demands for the sake of integrity of national unity. Appoint a foreign minister on immediate basis, Panama Bill tabled by PPP in Senate should be approved, the suggestions of former president Asif Ali Zardari on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) presented in All Parties Conference (APC) be accepted and the national security committee of parliamentarians should be reconstituted,” Bilawal had said.
The PPP chairman had warned the federal government that a long march will be held if their demands were not accepted.-Agencies
