358382_97507662Well it seems that the Pakistan cricket team cannot do their world famous push-ups , after it was learnt the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned the push-ups celebrations as part of their celebration after winning matches.
This was stated by the PCB official Najam Sethi who informed that players no longer celebrate victories with push-ups. “It only happened during the England tour and won’t happen again,” Sethi said.
The issue of push-ups was raised in the National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination on Wednesday, by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Rana Afzal, saying that players should offer Nafl prayers or do sajdas instead rather than push-ups.
The whole Push-ups celebrations became a nation-wide mania after skipper Pakistan test skipper Misbah ul Haq performed it, while celebrating his hundred at Lords during their tour of England following their training camp with the Pakistan Army.Giving reasoning behind why there is no need of push-ups celebrations, the MNA said cricket is “a gentleman’s game,” while doing push-ups does not maintain the game’s caliber, reported local media. “Push-up celebration promotes a negative image of Pakistan and needs to be revisited,” said Khan.
