ISLAMABAD, October 27: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday strongly condemned the police crackdown on political activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad.
In a press statement, Bilawal Bhutto said the federal governemnt has shot itself in the foot by resorting to lathi-charge on political workers.
“Youth Convention is a democratic process and PPP strongly condemns any such act which prevent any democratic process,” he said.
Meanwhile, PPP leaders Qamar Zaman Kaira and Senator Saeed Ghani have convened a press conference to explain party’s position about today’s events in Islamabad.
Dozens of PTI workers were rounded up by Islamabad police as they gathered in Islamabad to hold “Youth Convention” ahead of party’s November 2 protest. -Agencies
