- Sh Rashid adamant to hold public meeting today
RAWALPINDI, October 27: Police launched a crackdown against Awami Muslim League (AML) workers here at Lal Haveli on Thursday night.
According to reports, Police is taking the AML workers into custody.
Police also took away all the decoration items, including loudspeakers brought for Friday’s public meeting.
Police said that the arrests were being made against the violation of Section 144, which has been imposed in the twin cities to prevent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf long march to the federal capital on November 2.
AML has announced to hold a public meeting at Lal Haveli on Friday, which would be addressed by PTI Chief Imran Khan.
In his reaction to crackdown on Lal Haveli, AML Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said that ‘Gullu Butts’ of Police have cordoned off the Lal Haveli. He said, his party would hold public meeting planned for Friday, come what may. He said that he was not afraid of arrest.-Monitoring Desk
