  •  Speaker KPK Assembly Asad Qaiser will file a case at Peshawar High Court today

cpec-china-pakistanPESHAWAR, November 6: Special Adviser in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani on Sunday said the government has decided to move the court against the Federal Government for ignoring the province in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Talking to media persons in Peshawar, he said, Speaker KP Assembly, Asad Qaiser will file a case at Peshawar High Court on Monday.
“In spite of frequent meetings and contacts, the central government has not fulfilled its promises made to the KP government,” he said.
In response to a question regarding Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Ahsan Iqbal, Ghani stated that, “The Federal Government has failed to address the complaints of KP government.”
He further stated that, “The federal government is also failing to fulfill its promise made to the provincial government regarding the southern route.”
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal commenting on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s decision to move the court on CPEC issue, said it will create problems for the province itself. He said foreign investment is not attracted through cases in courts; however, if the KP government wants to get satisfaction by moving the court, it cannot be prevented from it. projects being executed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will benefit the less developed and backward areas of the country.
In a statement, he said no province is being deprived of its share in the project.
Ahsan Iqbal said construction work on the western route of the corridor is underway with full swing, and Gwadar-Quetta road will be completed before the stipulated time.-DNA
