Eventually a pleasant development surfaced in turbulent environment. First shipment sailed trough the Gawadar sea port waters. A decent ceremony registered the historic event with a strong note of Civil-military harmonious approach on sensitive national issues. Undoubtedly, it is historic event. CPEC Project is a big pinch to global and regional players. These players left no stone unturned to sabotage the project. Expeditious completion of project and departure of first merchant vessel is a great symbolic response to the opponents. Neither, the CPEC project has reached to the final phase as a lot of development work is to be under taken yet, nor the challenges or threats have diminished. There are looming threats both at external and internal fronts. Opponents are not ready to give up. A day prior to Gawadar port ceremony, blood both was given to innocent pilgrims at Shah Noorani shrine. Chain continued with missile attack on LOC where seven Pak Soldiers embraced shahadat. It is an open message and need no complicated deciphering. Pak stability is not acceptable to our neighbor. We should be clear at this point!. Pakistan is at War. This war is being fought at internal and external fronts. At internal front, enemy has all designs to ignite Balochistan, Karachi , FATA and selected areas of Punjab. At external front, extreme military pressure is being built on eastern and western borders. Precarious situation at western front is directly linked with regional developments. Potential of Afghan government is well known to all .Puppet set up has no option to act independently for the better interest of Afghan masses. Region needs peace and stability. Every step taken by USA in Afghanistan has a damaging impact on regional peace. Indian moves are obvious and their open collaboration with NDS specially Afghan security establishment is no more a secret. Frequent attacks on Pak posts along Afghan border and blasts at communication arteries of FATA is a direct effort to enhance military pressure an Pakistan. Enemy has obvious designs to cripple Pak defense capability through prolonged engagement at internal and external fronts. Our public places are at hit list. Parks, Mosques, Shrines, Educational institutes, Courts, hospitals and worship places have been targeted in the past. Same is expected in future too. It is a great challenge and collective responsibility. We have paid heavy price on this account. A price for negligence and inefficiency. Capacity building of civil quarters is the need of the moment. We need to act on war footing. What happened in Balochistan after blast at Shah Noorani shrine was miserable. State was unable to evacuate the injured victims. There was no timely first Aid! Reliable road infrastructure was not available. How can we survive in this war with such handicaps?. Such worst scenes were witnessed after terrorist attacks on lawyers and police recruits at Quetta. Poor governance is interlinked with inefficiency and corruption . Multiplying negative effects are unaffordable any more . Enemy designs are well known and our handicaps are too in ! verbal claims will not work . It is time to act and prove that what all has been claimed in statement was actually meant by the authorities in real sense .. Inefficiency of civil quarrelers has over burdened the armed forces . CPEC trade convoys moved under security umbrella of armed forces which are already overstretched at many fronts. Political leadership should rise to the occasion and undertake solid steps to enhance the capacity initially in two sectors . Firstly, overall capacity building of LEAs and secondly, the improvement in crisis management capability. It is criminal to live and move around with royal protocol once the state is entirely unable to handle a single serious casualty in provincial capital like Quetta. State resources are meant for the masses primarily. It is obvious that CPEC is a great opportunity but the challenges to our stability and existence are greater too. For the state, it is now time to act as the actions speak louder than words.
