ISLAMABAD, November : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said on Tuesday stories being told by the Sharif family kept on changing in the Panama Leaks case.
The PTI chairman said this in reference to a letter by Qatari Prince Hammad bin Jasim which was presented in the Supreme Court during the Panama Leaks case.
The letter stated that Hussain Nawaz had acquired the London flats via a business settlement with the Al-Thani family.
“First the story was from Raiwind to Dubai, Dubai to Jeddah and Jeddah to Mayfair. Now there is a new story of Raiwind to Dubai, Dubai to Qatar and from Qatar to Mayfair,” Imran told reporters.
The PTI chief added that these stories kept on changing but did not elaborate as the matter was sub judice.
Imran also declared Panama Papers as ‘evidence’ instead of mere allegations.
Khan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should have resigned seven months ago. “Everybody wants that the decision [on Panama Papers] should be made by Supreme Court instead of in a commission”, he added.
Chairman Imran Khan said his party will go ahead with the decision to boycott Parliament’s joint session that will be addressed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tomorrow during his two-day visit to Pakistan.
“Turk ambassador requested us not to boycott the session; however, we think that a person who is involved in corruption should not stay in power therefore we will go ahead with our decision to boycott,” Khan spoke to media persons following a party meeting at his Banigala residence.
“We love and respect people of Turkey and also respect the invitation of the Turkish minister and welcome the President to Pakistan, but we cannot endorse Nawaz Sharif by going to National Assembly,” he said.
“After the heavy corruption charges on Nawaz Sharif, and after all the laws they broke by shelling on Chief Minister KP’s convoy, we can not endorse him,” Khan affirmed.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday on two-day visit. He is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of President Mamnoon Hussain.
According to officials, President Erdogan will meet President Mamnoon Hussain and hold talks with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif during the visit.
The exchange of views between the two leaders will cover entire range of bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues. The Turkish President is also scheduled to address Joint Session of the Parliament.
President Erdogan will also travel to Lahore, where the Prime Minister will host a banquet in the honour of visiting dignity at Shahi Fort. -Agencies
