Multiple-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) world champion Marcos “Santa Cruz” Oliveira will be in Pakistan from December 7 to 15 to hold a series of seminars and lay the foundation of Pakistan Top Team (PTT) — an affiliate of the world renowned American Top Team.
In the first leg of his Pakistan tour, Oliveira will visit Islamabad’s Fight Fortress and Lahore’s Shapes Gym among others, following which he will touch down in Karachi on December 13 to formally inaugurate PTT at K7 Fitness and Kickboxing Academy.
A black belt holder in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo as well as capoeira, Oliveira is regarded as one of the top practitioners in all those disciplines and imparts his knowledge all over the world.While he also train professional fighters, his real passion is working with children at grassroot levels so that the discipline and combat skills of BJJ could be transferred to future generations.The news will be music to the ears of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fights all over Pakistan as in addition to learning from a legend like Oliveira, the establishment of PTT will bring them increased exposure and more opportunities to fight internationally.Moreover, PTT and Oliveira’s presence will give Pakistan access to international MMA coaches, training regimes and syllabi.
