ISLAMABAD, December 9: Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that he would never let the nation forget about the Panama Leaks and stated that it was his party’s wish to receive justice from the case as soon as possible. While speaking to media men in Islamabad he expressed disappointment over not hearing of Panama case in the court. He said Prime Minister Nawaz and Khawaja Asif must listen that nation will never let forget Panama case.
He said we were disappointed over not hearing of Panama Case on daily basis but we respect court decision. He said that the know the proceedings of the case is in Supreme Court and he hoped that the case would be heard by the same bench headed by justice Saqib Nisar.
Imran said that this case would decide whether the law in Pakistan could hold the powerful and the elite accountable or not. He further said that before the Panama Leaks scandal came to light, Maryam Nawaz had claimed in an interview that she owned no properties abroad.
“However, after the Panama Leaks scandal came to light, they had to admit to owning properties abroad,” he said.
Imran Khan said that for this case, there was no need for a judicial commission. He said that the Prime Minister’s attorney had claimed that Nawaz Sharif’s statement in parliament was political.

Meanwhile, talking to journalists at his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad, Imran Khan said no matter what happens he will take the Panama case to its logical end. He expressed hope that the same bench would resume hearing the case in the first week of January. He hoped the same bench would hear the case in the first week of January.
Imran Khan reiterated his stance that a commission is not needed in this case. With Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed adding that so far all the commissions which had been created had not met expectations of the public.
Khan said that the Panama case would decide if there are laws for the rich and powerful as well.
The PTI chairman added that the prime minister had claimed all documents regarding finances are available, but the prime minister’s counsel told the court he is unable to locate such old documents.
Imran Khan said that there was no need to constitute commission on Panamagate scandal for now, saying that time for constitution of the commission has gone.
He said that the Prime Minister’s counsel had declared his speech in the National Assembly as a political statement. The PTI chief said that the documents reading Maryum Nawaz’s as beneficial owner of the offshore companies were available on ICEJ’s website, then why the FBR did not issue notice to her.
He said that PML-N had taken several somersaults during the case. He added that when Nawaz Sharif entered politics, he owned a single factory and in 1993 when he became Prime Minister he had 30 factories.
He added that the new Chief Justice had great responsibility to dispense justice in the Panamagate case.
On the formation of the commission he said: “The decision is up to the new chief justice but in our eyes the time for that has passed. The provision of evidence has nearly ended.”
“We will not let this case be forgotten… it will not die down. While the case is adjourned we will go to the public.” Imran Khan announced to again approach the court of masses.-Agencies
