ISLAMABAD, December 13: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced on Tuesday to end boycott of the parliament and attend sessions starting from Wednesday.
Khan chaired a meeting of the parliamentary committee and decided to end the boycott.
The announcement was made in the media talk afterwards during which Khan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s counsel stated in the Supreme Court that his client’s speech in the National Assembly was political.
Khan announced to move adjournment movement and privilege motion against the government on Wednesday.
We are going to the Parliament tomorrow with a special objective, Imran Khan told the media persons at Bani Gala.
Chairman of PTI said that Nawaz Sharif’s family was named in Panama Leaks while Speaker of National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq filed a reference against him. Khan said that the parliament failed until now and the party would see what happens tomorrow.
When a Prime Minister is caught lying before the Parliament over his foreign wealth, he has to be exposed and held accountable, he said. We will now see whether or not Parliament holds Nawaz Sharif accountable for his lies, he said. Khan warned that the party would finalise next course-of-action if adjournment motion was not responded to.
I also ask the PML-N members to take a stand against Nawaz Sharif. This is also a test of opposition members, he added.
What is the use of the Parliament if it doesn’t respond to opposition’s demand of accountability? he asked.
A case over Panama Leaks is being heard in Supreme Court on plea of PTI against premier’s family for alleged corruption and stashing wealth abroad. -NNI
