- Says the day PM will come in National Assembly for clarification of his statement he will too attend the NA session

LAHORE, December 16: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan on Friday cast a spotlight on rumours circulating about the incoming Supreme Court Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and newly appointed army chief on Friday, saying there is an impression that they are sympathisers of the ruling government. Imran said the day prime minister will come in National Assembly for clarification of his statement he will too attend the NA session, adding that if prime minister will not clarify his statement then it will prove he is undermining the authority of the parliament. Imran said Shah Mehmood demanded in NA on Thursday that prime minister should attend the session on Monday and clarify his statement. He said the matter of statement of PM is not sub judice. He said prime minister is responsible in democratic government, adding that the masses have lost trust in parliament. He said prime minister lied before the parliament over money laundering of billions of rupees.
“Khurshid Shah said the impression is that the new CJ’s sympathy
is with PML-N,” Khan told journalists in Lahore referring to the senior PPP lawmaker’s speech in Parliament on Wednesday.
“There is also this impression that the changes in the army are for PML-N,” Khan added. “I don’t know if there is truth to this. All I know is that when Maryam Nawaz tweets saying a storm has passed… what does it mean? They [PML-N] themselves are giving weight to the perception that the change that has come is suiting them.” He said Maryam Nawaz should not issue such statements.
Khan further said that Panama Papers case involving Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family is pending in the Supreme Court.
“How has the storm passed? A new CJ and new COAS have come. What message are you giving people? This is a wrong impression.” “They are hurting the public’s confidence in institutions.” Imran Khan called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to appear before the parliament.
Imran Khan said Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s report on Quetta Civil Hospital attack raises question marks over the government’s performance. Khan called out Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar over the report’s findings and said the minister should clarify his position on the commission report.
The PTI chairman said people don’t know what ‘U-turn’ actually means. “Telling lies is U-turn,” Imran Khan said. Imran said he never took U-turn for political purposes. He said PML-N always victimize its opponents, adding that many cases has been registered against him and his party workers and he has been declared absconder by courts. He said the government has failed to fulfill the promises made with the masses. Imran Khan said he did not recognize Sardar Ayaz Sadiq as Speaker National Assembly.
