PTIISLAMABAD, December 18: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday demanded resignations of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri and Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Khan Bugti over the Quetta Commission inquiry report. PTI also demanded that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif should also resign because he is the team captain and responsible for the appointments of the ministers. PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Quraishi has demanded of the prime minister to explain contradiction in his statement regarding Panama leaks issue today (Monday) in National Assembly. He said the day prime minister will attend the NA session Imran Khan will also attend the session. He said the statement of Chaudhry Nisar to confront the Quetta commission report comes under contempt of court.
Briefing media after PTI’s parliamentary party meeting held at Bani Gala under the chairmanship of Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Quraishi said that the press conference of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was a direct attack on the Supreme Court.
The PTI leader demanded of the Interior Minister to resign over the Quetta commission report. He added that the PTI would take up the issue of Interior Minister’s press conference and contradictions in Prime Minister’s statements on the floor of the house and submitted in SC in the National Assembly.
He added that the PTI would seek explanation from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over what he says contradictions in his statement given on the floor of the house and his reply submitted in the Supreme Court through his counsel in Panama case.
He added that the Quetta Commission report had exposed inefficiency and failures of the incumbent government. He termed the Saturday’s press conference of Interior Minister as a direct attack on Supreme Court. He questioned as to who allowed a banned outfit chief to sit in a meeting with the Interior Minister. He added that PTI Youth convention was dismantled by police, but a banned outfit was allowed to hold public meeting in the capital.
Qureshi said that he has contacted the Opposition Leader in NA Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah and Opposition Leader in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan for joint strategy in the parliament over the Quetta commission report. He said that he would meet them before the parliament session and also contact leaders of the other opposition parties.
He said that the 21st constitutional amendment was going to lapse on January 7 and with the lapse of the amendment the military court will also cease to exist. The government must clear its policy regarding the amendment, he demanded. He said that there was no progress in judicial reforms to replace the military courts. What will be the strategy regarding terror cases after the conclusion of 21st amendment and military courts?” he asked. He said PTI will inform the people about its view point regarding military courts after the explanation of government.
Replying a question Quershi said if PPP will come on the roads over Panama and corruption issue he will support it, adding that PTI will talk with PPP over the matter. Replying a question Qureshi said if prime minister will not clarify his statement in NA then PTI will contact other parties to form joint strategy over the issue.-Sabah
