ISLAMABAD, December 19: Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria has said, “The bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Russia will certainly help to establish peace and tranquility in the region.”
In an interview with Radio Pakistan, he said, “A deal to procure military helicopters from Russia is likely to be concluded soon.” He said, “Both Russia and Pakistan are very much concerned over security situation in Afghanistan and are unanimous in dealing this issue jointly to restore peace.”
Responding to a question he said, “The current Indian regime is not sincere in normalizing relations with Pakistan and is taking things to a very dangerous level.” He reiterated that, “Pakistan is ready to resolve all issues with India through dialogue.”
The Spokesman said, “India wants instability in Afghanistan to establish its hegemony in the region, especially with regard to Pakistan.” Regarding Kashmir issue he said, “The resolution of Kashmir dispute is a prerequisite for the peace and security in the region.”
He urged India to stop brutalities being perpetrated by its forces over innocent people in Occupied Kashmir. He said, “Over 6,000 people have become victims of pellet guns and the world should take notice of this crime against the humanity.”
To a question, he said, “Islamabad and Beijing are vigorously pursuing the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project and about 24 early-harvest projects will be completed by 2018.” -DNA
