The Supreme Court bench has vowed to be thorough in its verdict on the infamously famous Panama Leaks case. No sane person can disagree with the court ruling that it is not possible to give a short order in such a case (on which hinges the future of the country).
“We will take some time to ponder over every possible aspect, “observed Justice Asif Saeed Khosa. ” And the Court’s decision would be such that it would remain relevant , and could be cited even two decades down the road. ”
The other key ruling was : “The case will be decided strictly in accordance with the law and the constitution, UNFAZED BY ANY OUTSIDE CLAMOURING AND UNMINDFUL OF WHETHER IT PLEASES OR DISPLEASES SOME ONE”
These words came from Justice Azmat Saeed who also said with a sense of responsibility to history: “WE ALL HAVE TO GO INTO OUR OWN GRAVES”.
From these remarks I can venture to state that the honorable judges have very sagely already read out the preamble of their forthcoming judgment.
Let us analyse their remarks and rulings.
Let us first find out who have been guilty of clamourings so far, and who have expressed their dismay at the court proceedings.
Not a single statement from the PTI camp or from the mouth of Imran Khan himself is on record which even vaguely shows discontent with the court’s behavior. Imran Khan has always forcefully asserted that he will accept the court verdict whatever it is. It is natural however on his part to expect that the Judgment will vindicate his struggle.
On the other hand the PMLN camp led byKhwajaSaadRafique has threatened consistently to take the case to the People for real judgment (if the court fails to give MNS the required clean bill of health)
Secondly if the Prime Minister is found NOT GUILTY in the judgment, how will this verdict be cited two decades down the road?
Thirdly, will the judges like to go to their graves having upheld the PMLN point of view that a Country’s Prime Minister need not be Saadiq and Ameen?
The rest I leave to your imagination my dear readers!!!
