- Tells Govt to put blasphemers on Exit Control List
ISLAMABAD, March 8: Chief Justice (CJ) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked if blasphemous material against “Mosan-e-Insaniyat” our beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is not blocked then a civil war will start in the country.
He further remarked that “Interior ministry must take an action against the blasphemous content on social media and blasphemous material be removed from website.
He gave these remarks during the course of hearing of case against placement of blasphemous content on social media on Wednesday.
Secretary interior minister appeared in the court on behalf of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Justice Aziz also inquired that if any action has been taken by government so far on the matter of blasphemous material on website. The issue is very sensitive and should be resolved as soon as possible. Take action today and block blasphemous material.
Justice Siddiqui further remarked that if we can’t block blasphemous material on social media pages then a civil war will start in the country. We talk about our own institutions rather than institutions of other countries. I will conduct hearing of this case on daily basis and whosoever is involved will be brought to justice”. Justice Siddiqui eyes became wet with tears during the hearing. He remarked ” eversince this matter has come to my knowledge, I have not slept for the last 10 days. I have taken oath of my country, constitution and conscience. Chairman PTA Ismail Shah, Secretary interior ministry Arif Khan and IG Islamabad Tariq Masood appeared in the court while interior minister Nisar Ali Khan could not appear due to his eye operation. The chief justice IHC while adjourning the hearing of the case till today directed the IG Islamabad what action he takes today in this matter he should inform the court about it.. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday ordered the government to put names of those who are involved in posting ‘blasphemous’ content on social media on the Exit Control List (ECL).-Online/Agencies
