ATTOCK: Government is misappropriating tax money to post advertisements, alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan on Sunday. The government has misused public funds for their own personal means. They have used around Rs25 to Rs30 billion for their own means, he claimed during a press conference in Attock. Khan also discussed the corruption charges against Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Asad Qaisar. “If NAB [National Accountability Bureau] didn’t initiate an investigation against Qaiser then who submitted the letter?” he asked. Answering his own question he remarked the letter was sent by ‘Motu King’. In the context, he was referring to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Asad Qaiser should investigate into the matter and approach the court, said Khan. NAB had initiated an inquiry against Qaisar over alleged corruption and misuse of powers. The NAB had asked Qaiser to share details of five-kanal bungalow worth Rs350 million. In his response, Qaisar said that he purchased land in Bani Gala in 2012, before his party came into power in KP. Speaking on the Panama case, Khan said that the lies Sharif family uttered in the court came out in the open. First they claimed that Maryam Sharif’s name was not there in Panama case but eventually her name came up, he remarked. However, he refused to comment when asked to about verdict of the Panama case.-Agencies
