It is not the first time that Syrian tyrant Bashara al Asad has used chemical weapons to kill civilians in a brutal attempt to crush uprising against his sectarian dictatorship.
A careful study of the events of last five years will show that Bashara’s Iran-backed tyranny has thrived on the hypocritical policies of America, and has also been instrumental in giving birth to extremist tendencies leading to the rise of ISIS— known also as Daesh.
What had initially been a democratic revolt against Bashara’s dictatorship in the wake of the famous Arab spring, turned into a battle for control of the heart of the middle east. Apart from Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arab, America and Russia also became principal characters in a blood-curdling drama of blood-bath.
Hundreds of thousands have perished. Hundreds of thousands have fled from their homes and homeland.
I have been to Syria twice. It will not be an understatement to say that Syria has been the heart of Islam.
For centuries the Christian West has languished in the knowledge that Islam drove Christianity out of the Middle East where it had taken birth. I can’t help surmising that the West has hit back with vengeance.
But Trump has given some hope of a balance being created in the Syrian Civil War. America has fired more than 50 missiles at an airbase of Bashara in response to the chemical weapons attack that had killed 80 civilians including children, the other day.
One hopes that America and Russia reach at an agreement to get rid of both the monsters at the same time— Bashara and Daesh.
